Petty Officer Roy Beveridge RN

Served with the Royal Navy , Service No P/MX62732, Ordnance Artificer 4th. Class

 Roy was born on 29 June 1913 to parents Thomas and Catherine Beveridge, Blaydon on Tyne, Co. Durham. He was killed in action on 24
May 1941 age 27 years. He was one of 1415 crew who lost their lives when HMS Hood was sunk by the German Warship Bismarck.

Roy is remembered at Blaydon Cemetery, Blaydon War Memorial, Portsmouth Naval Memorial, Panel 56 Column 3; HMS Excellent and at
Hood Chapel, Church of St. John the Baptist, Beldre,Hampshire.
